Recycling Guide

Recycling helps conserve natural resources, reduce landfill waste, and protect the environment. While curbside recycling service in most areas of Grays Harbor County is provided by LeMay, Grays Harbor County supports recycling by providing recycling opportunities at county transfer stations, maintaining glass drop-off locations, and connecting residents with reliable recycling resources.

 

How We Support Recycling

  • Share information about accepted materials and recycling best practices
  • Connect residents with local recycling providers and state resources
  • Promote waste reduction and responsible disposal

Glass is not accepted in most curbside recycling programs in Grays Harbor County.

Recycling at Transfer Station

The Central Transfer Station accepts a variety of recyclable materials, including:

  • Cardboard
  • Newspaper
  • Mixed paper
  • Glass
  • Plastic bottles
  • Aluminum and steel cans
  • Used motor oil

Accepted materials may change. Check with the transfer station before your visit.

Recycle Right

Recycling works best when materials are clean, empty, and dry. Placing the wrong items in recycling containers can contaminate entire loads and reduce the amount of material that can actually be recycled.

Help improve recycling by:

  • Emptying food and liquids from containers
  • Rinsing recyclable containers when needed
  • Keeping recyclables dry
  • Leaving plastic bags out of recycling carts
  • Following your recycling provider's accepted materials list
