Elections & Voter Information
Elections are a cornerstone of the democratic government. Election oversight and administration ensure that every eligible voter has access to a ballot and that results are accurate, secure, and trusted.
Election administration refers to everything that happens before, during, and after an election to make voting possible and to count and certify the results. This process includes Voter Registration Management, Ballot Prep and Distribution, Polling Place Operations, and Vote Counting and Certification.
- Voter registration management: Processing and maintaining accurate lists of eligible voters.
- Ballot preparation and distribution: Designing ballots, printing them or preparing electronic formats, and making them available to voters.
- Polling place operations: Selecting polling locations, training staff, and setting up secure voting environments.
- Vote counting and certification: Tabulating votes, resolving provisional ballot issues, and formally certifying results.
Good election administration helps ensure that elections are efficient, fair, and accessible for all voters.
