Short Term Rentals
Short-term rentals (STRs) are regulated under GHCC 17.06.020 and require a valid STR permit issued by Grays Harbor County. STR permits must be renewed annually.

Where STRs Are Allowed
With a valid STR permit, short-term rentals are allowed in the following zoning districts:
- General Development One (G-1)
- General Development Five (G-5)
- General Residential (R-2)
- Resort Residential (R-3)
- Rural Residential (RR)
- Lake Quinault (LQ)
- General Commercial (C-2)
Renewals
STR permits must be renewed annually at least 30 days prior to expiration.
Exemptions
STR permits are not required for properties approved for short-term rental use under a Conditional Use Permit or Planned Unit Development approved prior to March 22, 2022.
Properties located within incorporated cities must follow the applicable city regulations.
