We keep county vehicles, equipment, and communication systems running so essential services can operate safely and reliably. Our work supports road crews, law enforcement, emergency response, and other public services.

Fleet & Equipment Maintenance

The ER&R Division manages the county’s fleet, including vehicles for the Sheriff’s Office, Public Works, and shared pool vehicles. Minor repairs are handled at local shops in Elma, Cosmopolis, and Copalis, while major repairs are completed at the main facility in Montesano. The county maintains dozens of vehicles and equipment to support daily operations.

Communications Systems

The Communications team provides and maintains a countywide radio system used by public safety and service departments. This includes equipment used by the Sheriff’s Office, Public Services, the County Jail, and Juvenile Detention Facility. The team also supports communication towers and works with partner agencies like E-911 and Grays Harbor Transit. Reliable communication is critical during emergencies and for daily operations across the county.
