Sex and Kidnapper Offender Information

The Sheriff’s Office provides information about registered Level II, Level III, and transient sex and kidnap offenders living in Grays Harbor County. This information helps residents stay informed and supports community safety.  This notification is not intended to cause fear. An informed community is a safer community.

What You Should Know

Registered offenders live in many communities. By law, the Sheriff’s Office cannot control where an offender lives unless a court order is in place.  Washington State law requires certain individuals convicted of sex or kidnapping offenses to register with law enforcement. The Sheriff’s Office may share information with the public when it is necessary to protect the community, as authorized by RCW 4.24.550.

Understanding Risk Levels

Level I (Low Risk) : These individuals are considered unlikely to reoffend. Information is shared with law enforcement and may be shared with specific individuals who are directly affected. Level I offenders are not included in general public notifications.

Level II (Moderate Risk) : These individuals may reoffend. Information may be shared with schools, childcare providers, community organizations, and neighbors in the area.

Level III (High Risk) : These individuals are considered more likely to reoffend. Information may be shared with the public to help people take appropriate safety precautions.

Types of Offenders

Sex Offenders

Includes individuals required to register due to certain sex-related offenses. Information is shared based on risk level and community safety needs.  Individuals required to register as sex offenders must register with the Sheriff’s Office according to RCW 9A.4A.132Washington State law.

Kidnap Offenders

Includes individuals required to register due to kidnapping-related offenses. Information is shared using the same risk-based approach.
