The main location inside the Administration Building in Montesano, is open 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM with limited staffing during lunch. For most transactions, you will need a valid photo ID and a plate or VIN number.

The Hoquiam Licensing and Transportation Agency is located at 2616 Sumner Avenue in Aberdeen. They are open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday through Friday and 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM on Saturday. Call 360-533-4333 for more information.

The Elma Licensing is at the Elma Timberland Bank located at 313 W Waldrip St in Elma. They are open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday through Friday. Call 360-482-3333 for more information.

Renew Online

Renew registration annually and online for the fastest service. Tabs can be mailed or picked up in person.

Renew by Mail

Renew by mail with DOL renewal notice but allow for 3–10 business days. If expiration is within 10 days, renew it online or in person.

Renew in Person

Renew in person as registered owner or immediate family member (with same last name) using a Photo ID and renewal notice OR plate number.

Replace Lost Tabs

Replace lost tabs using the DOL Lost Affidavit that must be notarized or submitted in person to an authorized DOL licensing agent with a valid Photo ID.

Paper renewal reminder notices are mailed approximately 3 weeks before expiration. Sign up for email reminders through DOL.

Discover Pass

Discover Pass purchases are completed during vehicle renewal and will be mailed within 7-10 business days. For delivery issues call 1-844-271-704. Immediate passes are available where hunting and fishing licenses are sold.

License Fees

Licensing fees are mostly set by the Washington State Legislature and additional local fees may include Transportation Benefit District (TBD) or Regional Transit Authority (RTA). Fees are determined on several factors and can be calculated online with DOL.
