Commissioner Vickie Raines Announces Resignation from Grays Harbor Board of County Commissioners
Grays Harbor County Commissioner Vickie Raines has announced that she will resign from the Board of County Commissioners, with her resignation effective March 31, 2026.
Raines has served as the District 3 Commissioner since 2015 and has more than 26 years of experience in elected public service, including prior service as mayor of Cosmopolis for 12 years and as a member of the Cosmopolis City Council for three years.
In announcing her resignation, Raines shared that she will be transitioning to a new professional opportunity, accepting the role of Chief Executive Officer of Community Integrated Health Services (CIHS), a regional behavioral health organization serving several counties in Southwest Washington.
Reflecting on her tenure, Raines expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve Grays Harbor County and highlighted several priorities she hopes will continue to advance, including planning for a new criminal justice facility, supporting emergency response services, and strengthening the county’s long-term financial stability.
During her time on the Board, Raines participated in numerous county initiatives involving long-term planning, public safety, and community development. Her departure marks the conclusion of more than a decade of service on the Board and over two decades in public office.
Following her resignation, the Board of County Commissioners will begin the process to fill the District 3 vacancy in accordance with applicable state and county procedures. The appointed commissioner will serve until the position is filled through the regular election process.
